Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could assist the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
